Multicultural Considerations in Screening and Diagnosis of ASD in Children Webinar

Attendees: Professionals interested in the multicultural challenges inherent in the screening and diagnostic assessment of children with ASD and their families. Family members also are welcomed.

Description: This free webinar will be delivered in a presentation and discussion format; information presented will be based on current literature, parent perspectives gathered in recent family discussions, and clinical experience.

Learning Objectives – Participants will:

  • Become aware of the discrepancies among various cultural groups in the early diagnosis of ASD.
  • Deepen familiarity with the obstacles and barriers to obtaining diagnostic evaluations experienced by families from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

  • Develop awareness of possible considerations when working with families during the diagnostic process.
